Coding with an English keyboard layout
As a perl coder, I use a bunch of sigils and special characters, which are much more easily produced using an english keyboard layout, rather than the norwegian one, where writing characters like |{}[] requires something akin to a vulcan death-grip. However, it kind of irked me that I have an American flag in the corner of my laptop most of the time. However, I've found a most pleasant replacement, which works just the way I am used to:
I've also set up the mac so I can switch back and forth with cmd-alt-space, so that I can write æøå when I correspond with people in Norwegian without too much trouble.
